Annapurna region is one of the best areas for trekking in Nepal- offering a variety of excellent treks of all grades and styles. According to a recent survey by Modern Maturity (USA) Annapurna region has been recognized as one of the world’s best trekking trails. More than 50,000 tourists annually visit this area. The region introduces Nepal's spectacular diversity at its finest: various tribes and castes, a wide range of terrain, wooded alpine pastures from sub-tropical rainforest to hidden valleys, the deepest gorge of the world and windswept desert plateaus. The trails are good, the walking is relaxed and the spectacular 8000-m mountains are breathtaking! Our trek takes us along river valleys, up stone staircases, through paddies fields and rhododendron forests. On the way we cross the Thorong La pass (5416m), a challenging ascent and encounter numerous monkeys, birds and flowers.
Annapurna Conservation Area is the home of about 101 mammals, 39 reptiles, 22 amphibians, and 478 species of birds, 9 types of rhododendrons, 38 orchids and 1226 varieties of wild plants.
The Annapurna Conservation Area Project-ACAP (7,629km.) is rich in natural beauty, flora and fauna. Regarded as one of the best trekking trails in the world, Annapurna region spreads around Kaski, Mustang, Manang and Lamjung districts of Central Nepal. The area reaches as high as 8,091m. of Mt. Annapurna starting with an altitude of 790m. Ghandruk and Ghorepani provide panoramic view of the Annapurna ranges with eye catching blossom of rhododendron in the hills. Jomsom is the turning point of Annapurna Circuit. One can also visit Tilicho Lake (4,919m) which is located at the southeast of Jomsom and the famous Hindu religious sites Muktinath Temple.
