And Tibet’s ancient capital of Lhasa is breathtaking—its temples and monasteries framed by grand and mountainous terrain. This is an awe-inspiring journey of the highest order.

Day 1 Arrival/Beijing

Upon your arrival at Beijing’s airport, your local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or explore the city.

Day 2 Beijing

Meals: Western buffet breakfast at hotel, lunch at local restaurant

Sites Visited: Tian’anmen Square, The Forbidden City, Summer Palace

After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you. The first store is the Tian’anmen Square. Then you will be driven to visit the incredible Forbidden City, home to China’s Emperors for over 500 years. After lunch, you will be driven to the exquisite Summer Palace, where you will marvel at the opulence of this imperial summer getaway. Then you will take a boat to enjoy the beautiful scenery of this charming place and see the dragon boat

Optional: in the evening you are free to choose enjoy the Chinese Acrobatic Show.

 

Day 3 Beijing

Meals: Western buffet breakfast at hotel, lunch at local restaurant, Beijing Duck Banquet at Quanjude

Sites Visited: The Great Wall (Mutianyu Section), Temple of Heaven

After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit  the Great Wall (Mutianyu Section) with less crowded and more spectacular views. On the way back your hotel visit a shop named Shahe Cloisonne, seeing a lost of delicate cloisonne works. After lunch go to visitthe majestic Temple of Heaven, which was where China’s Emperors prayed to heaven.

Special cultural experience: In the evening you will be taken to enjoy a Peking (Beijing) Duck Banquet at the oldest and most famous Peking (Beijing) Duck restaurant in China.

 

Day 4 Beijing/Xian                                                                      

Meals: Western buffet breakfast at hotel, lunch at local restaurant

Sites Visited: Hutongs

After having breakfast in your hotel, your will meet you guide and go to take on a rickshaw ride through the ancient lanes and alleyways of Beijing’s Hutongs. Also Visit a local man’s pearl workshop & store and learn how to spot a fake. In the evening you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Xian. Upon arriving in Xian you local guide will meet you and escort you the hotel for rest.

Day 5 Xian

Meals: Western buffet breakfast at hotel, lunch at local restaurant

Sites Visited: The Terracotta Warriors, the Big Goose Pagoda

After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit the incredible Terracotta Warriors. Go to visit the Daqin terra-cotta making factory see all kinds of models of Terracotta Warriors. After lunch you will be driven to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda Scenic Area, where Housed in a huge temple complex, the ancient pagoda was built to house Buddhist Sutras brought to China from India.

Optional: In the evening you will be free to choose enjoying an amazing Tang Dynasty Show, which bring the pageantry and music of the ancient Tang Dynasty to life.

 

Day 6 Xian

Meals: Western buffet breakfast at hotel, lunch at local restaurant

Sites Visited: Xian’s Ancient City Wall, Shaanxi History Museum, Xian Forest of Stele Museum

After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you. Then you will stroll around to the Huangcheng Park near to Xian Ancient City Wall. There are many people playing Tai Chi as a daily exercise. You can join in them and feel free to ask a teacher to teach you some. After you will go to visit the Ancient City Way and you can take a bicycle ride along the top of Xian’s Ancient City Wall to get a bird’s eye view of this amazing ancient city. Then you will go to visit the Shaanxi History Museum to discover Xian’s amazing history. Afternoon you will go to visit the Xian Forest of Stele Museum. Here you will see large collection of the earliest stone steles and sculptures of different dynasties.

Optional: In the evening you will be free to choose enjoying an amazing Tang Dynasty Show, which bring the pageantry and music of the ancient Tang Dynasty to life.

 

Day 7 Xian/Lhasa 

Meals: Western buffet breakfast at hotel

Today you are free to explore this city until your tour guide meet you and escort you to the airport for your flight to Lhasa. After you arrive in Lhasa your local tour guide will meet you and escort you to hotel for rest.

Day 8 Lhasa 

Meals: Western buffet breakfast at hotel, lunch at local restaurant

Sites Visited: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street

In the morning after having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to the Potala Palace. This gigantic complex, which was the political and religious center of Tibet, rests on a hill and overlooks the city of Lhasa. You will then be driven to Jokhang Temple, one of the most important and beautiful Buddhist Temples in Tibet. After visiting the temple you will walk along Barkhor Street which is a circular street surrounding the Jokhang Temple. On Barkhor Streets you will mingle with Buddhist pilgrims, locals, and merchants.

 

Day 9 Lhasa 

Meals: Western buffet breakfast at hotel, lunch at local restaurant

Sites Visited: Norbulingka Park, Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery

In the morning after having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to the Norbulingka Park. This incredible park was the former summer palace of the Dalai Lama. You will then visit the Sera Monastery, known for its stunning murals and Sutra debates, this monastery is a visitor favorite. After you will go to visit the Drepung Monastery. Established in 1416, it is known as the most important monastery of Gelugpa in Tibetan Buddhism.

 

Day 10 Lhasa/Chongqing 

Meals: Western buffet breakfast at hotel

Today you are free to explore this city until your tour guide meet you and escort you to the airport for your flight to Chongqing. After you arrive in Chongqing your local tour guide will meet you and escort you to hotel for rest.

Day 11 Chongqing/ Yangtze River Cruise

Meals: Western buffet breakfast at hotel, lunch at local restaurant

Sites Visited: Chongqing Park, Ciqikou Old Town, Three Gorges Museum

After breakfast you will go to visit the Chongqing Park. Then you will see the Ciqikou Old Town first. Ciqkou Old Town was a famous ancient porcelain production village during the Ming and Qing Dynasty. Now it still keeps the traditional Chinese style architectures. It's also a good place to taste the local snacks. After lunch you will go to visit the Three Gorges Museum. In the evening when it is time to board your Yangtze River cruise ship, your guide will take you to the docks. After boarding on the boat you can have a good rest.

Day 12 Yangtze River Cruise

Meals: Western buffet breakfast, Lunch and Dinner on Yangtze River Cruise

Shore Excursions: Shibaozhai or the White Emperor City

In the morning after breakfast, your ship will dock for your shore excursion to Shibaozhai or the White Emperor City. The captain will choose based on the weather situation. After your shore excursion, you will board your Yangtze River cruise ship and continue on your cruise through the amazing Three Gorges

 

Day 13 Yangtze River Cruise

Meals: Western buffet breakfast, Lunch and Dinner on Yangtze River Cruise

Sites Visited: Lesser Three Gorges or Shennong Stream

In the morning you will board small vessels for your trip through either the Lesser Three Gorges or the Shennong Stream. Your captain will choose depending on weather situation.

 

Day 14 Yangtze River Cruise/Yichang/Shanghai 

Meals: Western buffet breakfast, Lunch on Yangtze River Cruise

Sites Visited: Three Gorges Dam

In the morning after breakfast onboard ship, your Yangtze River Cruise ship will dock and you will have an excursion to the famed Three Gorges Dam, the larges hydro electric dam in the world. After lunch onboard ship, you will disembark your ship in the city of Yichang. Upon your arrival in Yichang, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Shanghai. Upon arriving in Shanghai, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to your hotel.

Day 15 Shanghai

Meals: Western buffet breakfast at hotel, lunch at local restaurant

Sites Visited: Yu Garden, Yuyuan Market, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, The Bund, Nanjing Road

After breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit the ancient Yu Garden, which is the only surviving ancient garden in Shanghai. After visiting the garden you will be taken to the Yuyuan Market located outside the garden. The Yuyuan Market is extremely popular with visitors and locals alike. After take a quick visit to a charming silk workshop then visit the Oriental Pearl TV Tower to get a bird’s eye view of Shanghai from within its unique architectural orbs. Also visit the Shanghai History museum on the first floor of the TV tower where you can see old Shanghai people’s life style. After visiting the tower, you will stroll along The Bund, known as a museum of Western architecture, and the nearby Nanjing Road, the No.1 shopping street in China.

 

Day 16 Shanghai/Departure

Meals: Western buffet breakfast at hotel

You will be free on this day until your guide meets you and escorts you to the airport for your flight home.
