Day 1: Kathmandu
Arrival
As your aircraft lands in Tribhuwan International Airport
our representative will receive you and help you to transfer into the hotel of
your choice. After having lunch we will start the sightseeing tour by visiting
Boudhanath Stupa which is located 8km east of Kathmandu. Boudhanath stupa is
dome shaped monument representing the mind of Buddha and pilgrimage destination
for Tantric Buddha. From Boudhanath we will drive towards Pashupatinath Temple
which is situated 5km east of Kathmandu. This ancient Hindu temple which is
dedicated to Lord Shiva is one of the most sacred pilgrimages for Hindus.
Situated in the bank of Bagmati River, in many occasions worshippers take a
ritual bath in the river. The temple is famous for its two tiered golden roof
with silver doors which is further adorned by charismatic wood-work. Stay
overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Drive to Lumbini(290km); 7hours
Early in the morning after having breakfast we will catch a
ride towards the plains in the southern Nepal to Lumbini which is the birth
place of Lord Buddha. The key attraction of Lumbini is the sacred garden, Maya
Devi Temple and Ashok pillar which are erected by Emperor Ashok in 249BC.
Day 3: Drive to
Pokhara(360km); 7hours
Early in the morning after having breakfast we will start a
scenic drive to Pokhara. Pokhara is situated 200km west of Kathmandu at the
altitude of 827m from the sea level. Pokhara is one of the most scenic spots of
the country whose beauty is enhanced by the lakes of Phewa, Begnas and Rupa.
Day 4: Drive to
Sarankot and back to Pokhara
We will wake up very early in the morning and drive to
Sarankot to see sunrise over the magnificently snowcapped Himalayas. Sarankot
situated in the altitude of 1500m from the sea level gives you an option of
paragliding over the lake city. Later we will drive back to hotel and have
breakfast. After breakfast we will set off for city tour and visit places like
David’s fall, Gupteshwor cave and Tibetan refugee camp. Stay overnight at hotel
in Pokhara.
Day 5: Drive back to Kathmandu and then to Dhulikhel
Early in the morning catch a ridge back to Kathmandu. As we
arrive Kathmandu we will have the lunch and drive for Dhulikhel. Upon arrival,
check into hotel and start the Dhulikhel tour by visiting traditional Newari
village. Stay overnight in Dhulikhel.
Day 6: Drive back to Kathmandu
We will wake up very early in the morning and witness the
magical view of sunrise over the Himalayas. We will have our lunch and drive
back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, we will check into the hotel and leave for
traditional town of Bhaktapur which is the home of medieval art and
architecture. The main square contains innumerable temple and other
architectural showpieces like Lion Gate, statue to King Bhupatindra Malla,
Golden Gate, iuand the palace with 55windows, Batsaka Temple and the bell of
barking dogs. In the evening we will drive towards Nagarkot which is situated
32km east of Kathmandu in the altitude of 2175m. From here one can see Mt
Everest in a very clear day. Stay overnight at hotel in Nagarkot.
Day 7: Explore Kathmandu
We will start the trip by visiting Swoyambhunath which is
located in the hilltop overlooking Kathmandu. Also known as the monkey temple
it is famous for its whitewashed stupas and fine blend of Hindu and Buddhist
religion. From here we will head towards Kathmandu Durbar Square which has
number of interesting pagodas and Indian style temples. Kathmandu Durbar Square
is also the historic seat of Nepalese royalty. Here we will visit Kastamandap
Temple (a temple rumored to be constructed from the wood of single tree),
Taleju temple, statue of Kal Vairab, Basantapur palace and Kumari Temple
(residence of living goddess Kumari). The evening is free you can enjoy either
shopping or roam around the streets of Thamel.
Day 8: Farewell
You will be transferred to Tribhuwan International airport
for your onward journey.
