Altitude sickness is caused by acute exposure to low partial pressure of oxygen at high altitude. The available amount of oxygen to sustain mental and physical alertness decreases with altitude. Available oxygen drops as the air density itself, the number of molecules (of both oxygen and nitrogen) per given volume, drops as altitude increases. So don’t ignore, if you have any symptoms then descending to a lower altitude is the only option.
  • Water: Have some means to purify water, iodine or a fine ceramic filter are the best options. The streams should be considered polluted and whilst bottled water is often available, the disposal of plastic bottles is a problem.

Electricity in Nepal

Nepal is a developing country, Outside of major cities area electricity on trekking can be scares. You should have to pay 100-800 NRs per hour to charge goods on many lodges and also many tea-house treks, including in Annapurna base camp trek, Everest Base camp trek and many others treks also. Chargers often won't work on low power solar systems you find right up in the mountains so u can buy alternative bayonet light to electricity power plug converter, which will only works in low voltage is highlow. The standard Nepalese electrical outlet is a three-pronged triangle so bring three-pronged triangle chargers.

Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Days

(5/5)

Over all experience: fantastic. One of the best treks experiences I have ever had so far and let me say this. Nature can never go wrong because it is perfect the way it is, and Actual adventure helped us enjoy this !

Actual adventure supported from arrival in Kathmandu to departure from Kathmandu.

Will divide the trek in three phases pre trek, trek phase and post trek.
Pre trek: we had more than enough information about the prep for the trek to get us mentally and physically ready for the trek. And these prep started atleast 4 to 5 months in advance of the trek. And trust me this is needed. The question is will I be able to do the trek if I don't prepare. Well I can but I won't be able to enjoy it as it is a physically demanding trek. We had information on buying the right gear, clothing, prepping for high altitude stay, any emergencies and dealing with it. We were received with a lot of warmth and the KTM airport by actual adventure team.

During the trek, we had a great team of main guide, assistant guides and porters assigned. Each of them extremely well aware of the terrain, well trained and very very patient set of guys. They paid attention in details to requirement of each and every person in group of 10.
The lodges we stayed in and the food we had were all good. Due to high altitude many of us lost our appetite but the guides were extremely supportive.
The main guide would brief us every evening on what to expect next day give us instructions on the preparation.
The guides would always walk in such a way to ensure that between 3 to 4 people there is one of them, Which was very important.

Post trek phase was comfortable with actual adventure supporting with arrangement of sightseeing Ktm. And ensuring that our stay in Ktm was comfortable.

Over all if anybody wants to to EBC PLEASE DO WITH A TRUSTED PARTNER. it is the key to enjoy the experience.

Actual Adventure” Kathmandu organized EBC trek for us in a very professional manner.Right from receiving us at Kathmandu airport( Mr. Sujan had come to recieve us at airport) where we were given traditional welcome with Marigold garlands to dropping us at Ramechhep airport where our flight to Lukla was arranged in a jiffy.
The main Guide “Mr.Deepak” and the assistant guides “Subhash” and “Bisht” were god sent. They took care of us like family members and ensured that we complete the trek successfully and we did ! They informed us about all the important way points and the peaks that we saw along the way.
Our sherpas, “The super humans” could not stop us from feeling surprised each day, with their vigor and enthusiasm, not to talk about their strength !
The accommodation at all stations right from Phakding to Gorakshep was done on twin sharing room basis and was very comfortable. All three meals including a drink( Soft drink) was included through-out the 11 day trek.
Our main guide even modified the itinerary to suit our group’s needs. The actual adventure organizer “Mr. Kedar” was a part of the whatsapp group and kept encouraging us at each station. It energised us and we kept yearning for more and more.
The hotel at Kathmandu was a decent one and was right in the heart of “Thamel” market. The rooms were good and neat .
On our return, we were presented with certificates by “Actuals Adventures” of having completed the EBC trek.
The only improvement which the organizer can do is that they can make it very clear at the time of booking itself that the flight to Lukla would be from Ramechhap airport and not Kathmandu airport. Because we were given an impression that the cost was inclusive of airfare from KTM to LUKLA.
All in all, we were very happy with Actuals Adventures hospitality and its organizing capabilities.

EBC, An experience of a lifetime

My journey to the Everest Base Camp was a never forgetting experience of a lifetime. I did the trek with Actual Adventure Company and they provided a remarkable service. I had travelled to Nepal many times but this was my first trek and actual adventure is always my travel partner. Kedar is always brilliant in terms of management and humble as well. Anyone could be impressed with him on the first meet. The only think I did in the trek was just enjoying my entire journey. Everything was fantastically organized by the team and I had no worries! Trust my experience and choose this company for the best travel experience.

“EBC trecking experience”

(5/5)
Most of the treks in the Everest region

It was our first time to visit KTM and do such an extreme trekking. Overall experience throughout our journey to base camp were excellent and hassle free-thanks to Mr. Kedar of Actual Adventure and owner of Alpine Hotel who made it sure that everything is taken care off upon our arrival till we departs Kathmandu. We were so pampered and overwhelmed with how they welcome and assist us on all our needs.

With a very fair price Mr. Kedar appointed a very good and well trained guide - Vinod who does more than he should do. He certainly know the place and every bit of details we require in order for us to make it till EBC. He even assist us during meals making sure that we are all comfortable and all set before he have his own meal. We had a great time with him.

We also have a 2 porter - Dilip and Tikka who always made us laugh even when we are tired. They made our lives easier by carrying load more than the max limit they should bring. We honestly won't finish the trek if not with them.

Well everything about our trip is amazing and worth every cent and time we spent. I would definitely reccomend Mr. Kedar and team for your future travel plans to Kathmandu

Everest Base Camp trek -Feb 2011

(5/5)

Here is the dreaming place, Himalaya!

Even though the clouds were covering some part of Mt. Everest when I arrived Kara-patar,

the trek to go there was special for me.

Beautiful snowy peaks, sound of Yak bells in the wind, “Namaste!”, never changing but

tasty Dal-bhat, and maybe the coldness and headache on the higher ground should never

get out from my memory whole my life.

I used Actual Adventure as the travel agency to get air ticket for Lukla. And I really

appreciate their helpfulness!

I would like to come back some day!

Everest Base Camp trek - October 2011

(5/5)

We contacted kedar from Thailand a couple of days   before leaving for Nepal to do Everest base camp trek. Based on the testimonial we saw on his website. Kedar was every bit as professional and helpful as we expected him to be. He took care of us while in Katmandu helping us to buy whatever gear we

need making arrangement of our ticket to Lukla as well organizing for us a porter to carry Shweat’s backpack

Our experience with Balaram was very good. Shweta was a slow trekker, and Balaram was always patiently walking behind her. He would also call upfront to the next destination for the day and ensure that we have a room to stay. He was also very informed about mountains in the Everest region and serve as a Guide as well. Often times he would have a different opinion from us about course of action for the day, but he did not impose it on us,. Also unlike several of the others porters we heard, about, balaram was honest worker who always had interest at heart, at all times. We got a stock in Lukla for 05 days at the end of our Trip, and balaram stayed through it all (even though his contract had expired with us) till he sent us off from Lukla airport.  We really appreciate having Balaram with us during the Entire trek. He was invaluable.

We would strongly recommend the Service from Balaram who work for Actual Adventure Pvt. Ltd with Kedar Neupane. For entire trekking in Nepal.

Everest Base Camp trek 14 days

(5/5)

I had done a lot of looking around online for a professional trekking company at a reasonable price.

I must have contacted 25-30 companies and individuals since it was our first time going to Nepal or doing any kind of trekking like this.

The first person to respond was Kedar. He immediately gave us valuable information and suggestions for improving our trekking plans. Also, he was flexible with scheduling and was able to keep the budget within our range.

He provided us with a very experienced guide, Deepak and a skilled porter named Chardra who were the real troupers in the experience. We had an excellent 11 day trek to Everest Base Camp through the most gorgeous surroundings I have ever seen.

All arrangements were made to our satisfaction and we were left with the memories of a lifetime!
