Bird Watching in Kathmandu

Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal.There are more than 500 species of Birds that are found around Kathmandu valley. In this tour we will visit the most popular place for Bird Watching in Kathmandu which is Phulchoki Hill. Phulchoki Hill lies 20 km towards the south east of Kathmandu. Vairous Species of Birds such as Babbler, cutia, warblers, minivets, thruses, eagles, woodpeckers and many more can be seen here. We will also visit Godavari botanical Garden which records more than 100 species of Birds.

 Bird Watching in Pokhara

Pokhara is a beautiful city which is also known as city of Lakes. Pokhara is a popular touristic hub of Nepal and also a popular place for bird watching. Different species of birds can be seen in Pokhara regularly along the shore of lakes. Day 09: Final Departure 

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu airport.

Welcome to ‘Bird Watchers Paradise’. Upon your arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu our representatives’ will be waiting to receive you. They will take you to the respective hotel where you will meet the rest of the team members. At the evening we will serve you with a warm welcome dinner. Overnight at Kathmandu. 

Day 02: Drive or fly to Pokhara

After having breakfast we will move to Pokhara. The drive is long but equally rewarding. You can see the villages and small cities outside the valley. En route you can also have glimpse of the major religious and cultural sites of Nepal. The drive goes via Prithivi Highway. We will stop on the way for Lunch. It takes about 5-6 hour from Kathmandu to reach to Pokhara depending upon the road conditions. Upon reaching Pokhara we will take you to the hotel. After you get fresh we will provide you a hall for your corporate meeting, conference and seminar. You can roam around the city at the evening if you want. Pokhara is famous for its night life as well. If you want to skip a long drive then you can also take a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara which takes about 35 minutes. Overnight at Pokhara. 

 Day 03: Bird watching tour at Pokhara. Overnight at hotel.

We will wake up to a magnificent view of the beautiful city of Lakes. Pokhara looks amazing during morning. After having our breakfast we will start our bird watching tour at Pokhara. Different species of birds can be seen in Pokhara regularly along the shore of lakes. Day 04: Drive to Lumbini (6-7 hrs drive), overnight at hotel.

We will have our breakfast at Pokhara and start our drive to Lumbini. It takes about 5 to 6 hours from Pokhara to reach Lumbini. Lumbini is one of the famous touristic hub of Nepal. Upon reaching Lumbini you will check-in to the hotel. you can roam around the city at your own if you like. Overnight at Lumbini. 

Day 05: Bird watching tour at Lumbini. Overnight at hotel.

Early morning we will have our breakfast and start our birding tour at Lumbini. We will go to Lumbini Garden to see the birds. Day 06: Drive to Chitwan and overnight at a resort.

We will have our early morning breakfast at Lumbini and drive to Chitwan. The drive takes about 5-6 hours from Lumbini to Chitwan. The drive goes through some major cities like Narayangarh, Bharahawa and Butwal. Upon reaching Chitwan you will check-in to the hotel and after you get fresh we will have a short sightseeing tour. Overnight at Chitwan.

Day 07: Wildlife excursion and Bird watching at Chitwan. Overnight at a resort.

Today we will have bird watching in Chitwan National Park. We will have our breakfast and around the Chitwan National Park which is also a habitat for one horned rhino.  Chitwan National Park is the frist National Park of Nepal. There are separate areas specified for Bird Watching in Chitwan National Park.  After having breakfast you will be driven towards Bis Hazari Tal which is one of the popular spot for bird watching. You can spot various species of birds like Bengal Florican, the vulnerable lesser adjutant, Grey-crowned Prinia, swamp francolin and many more in Chitwan National Park.  You can also enjoy jungle Safari in Chitwan National Park where you can spot many wild animals. After that you will drive to the hotel. Overnight at Chitwan. 

Day 08: Fly to Kathmandu. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Today we will have our breakfast and then drive back to Kathmandu. The drive takes about 5-6 hours to reach Kathmandu from Chitwan. The drive gives you a wonderful view of the countryside of Nepal outside the Kathmandu valley. You can also take a flight if you want to skip a long drive. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 09: Final Departure

Nepal Climate information

Nepal is a landlocked country which lies in Hindu Kush Himalayan region. Nepal has monsoonal climate having four main seasons: spring, summer, monsoon, autumn and winter.

Below is a general guide to conditions at different seasons:
January to March (winter): In this season temperature will decrease at often 0°C (32°F) at night, with extreme cold at high elevations. It is possible to trek in places like the Everest region during the winter but due to extreme cold weather and heavy snow fall it may be quite difficult than as usual.
April to June (summer): In these months it is quite warm and dry weather. There is an abundance of blooming flowers in the Himalayas at this time, with rhododendrons, in particular, adding a splash of color to the landscape. This season is the best time to undertake mountain expeditions.
June to September (Monsoon): There will be heavy monsoonal rainfall in this season. Rains are generally lighter in high Himalayan reasons. In this season the mountain ranges are not often visible due to the clouds.
October to December (autumn): These months are cool and clear which is due to the end of monsoon, there is little dust in the air so this is the best season to visit the hilly and mountainous regions.

Nepal Visas information
Visa in Nepal can be acquired on arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu and also at the border entry points in Kakadvitta, Birgunj, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, Gaddachowki border of Nepal - India and Kodari on Nepal-China border. Visa can also acquire at the nearest Nepal Embassy. For visa renewal purpose you can contact at Department of Immigration, Kalikasthan at Kathmandu. A valid passport and one passport -size photo with a light background is required. Visa can be obtained only through payment of cash in the following currency: Euro, Swiss Franc, Pound Sterling, US Dollar, Australian Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Hong Kong Dollar, Singapore Dollar and Japanese Yen. Credit card, Indian currency and Nepali currency are not accepted as payment of visa fee.

In Nepal, “Namaste” or “Namaskar” is said to an older or high-status person with palms together, figure up. It is used to greet a person in place of goodbye or hello. There is no limitation how many times you say “Namaste” but, it is better if you say once per person, per day. If You want to say “Thank You” then you can say “Dhanyabaad /'ðɅnjɅbɑ:d/ (Dhan-ya-baad)”
