Today you will fly to the only international airport of Bhutan from Kathmandu. The flight to Bhutan is about one hour. On your flight you can also get a chance to see the highest peak of the world Mt.Everest and other surrounding peaks on a clear day. Upon your arrival at Paro our representatives from Bhutan will receive you at the airport. After that they will take you to the hotel on a private vehicle. After that you can take a tour to Paro City or take rest at the hotel. Overnight at Paro.
Today we will have our breakfast and begin sightseeing at Paro. We will visit the watchtower of Paro Dzong which is currently the National Museum where we can see rare Bhutanese artifacts which reminds of the rich culture and history of Bhutan. After that we will continue sightseeing towars Rinpung Dzong which literally means “Fortress of the heap of jewls”. There you can see the administrative and religious headquarters for the Paro district. After this we will take a short walk to the Pachu River. You can take rest and relax on the shores of the river. We will have our lunch and then drive to Drukgyel Dzong. This is the historical landmark where the brave Bhutanese armies stopped the Tibetans and drove them back. We will then visit Jumolhari the ‘Mountain of the Goddess’ after that we will visit ‘Kichu Lhakhang’ which is one of the oldest and most scared shrine of Bhutan. After visiting the sites we will go back to the hotel. Overnight at Paro.
Today we will visit to Taktsang Monastery. Taktsang Monastery is one of the most popular and must visit places of Bhutan. The word Taktasng means the ‘Tiger’s Nest’. The monastery is one of the sacred places of Bhutan. It is believed that Guru Padmasambhava who brought the Buddhism in Bhutan came here flying on the back of tigress. Upon reaching the monastery we will do meditation within the perimeters or near the monastery. The hike today is about 5 hours.
We will have our breakfast and then drive to Thimpu which is the capital city of Bhutan. We will visit the King’s Memorial Chorten which was built in the memory of the 3rd King of Bhutan. After that we will visit Changangkha monastery and tallest building of Bhutan. After that we will visit the National Library of Bhutan which contains ancient rare and religious texts and manuscripts. After visiting the sites we will get back to the hotel. Overnight at Thimpu.
Today is our second day sightseeing at Thimpu. We will visit the Textile and Folk Heritage museum and visit Handicraft Emporium. Here you can buy locally made handwoven products as a souvenirs. After that we will take a tour to the Post Office and then visit Simitokha Dzong which is the oldest and Largest Fortress of Bhutan. Overnight at Thimpu.
We will have our breakfast and drive to Punakha from Thimpu. On our way to Thimpu we will also cross Dochula Pass which is a home to 108 memorial Chortens and also visit Druk Wangya Lhakhang. After that we will pass the Bhutan’s first Royal Botanical Park and then finally reach Punakha. The drive to Punakha from Thimpu is about 2 and half hours. After reaching Punakha we will visit the Punakha Dzong which lies at the middle of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu River. At the evening we will take a short Hike to Chimi Lakhang which was built in the 15th century by Lama Drukpa Kuenley and also known as ‘The Temple of Fertility’. Overnight at Punakha.
We will have our breakfast and start our drive to Wangdue Dzong. It is situated on the top of the hill and provides a wonderful view of the valley. After visiting we will have our lunch at Thimpu and drive to Paro. Overnight at Paro.
We will have our breakfast at Paro and Fly to Kathmandu bidding a goodbye to Bhutan. After reaching Kathmandu you will be free until your departure from Nepal.
