I just returned from a fantastic trek to Namche Bazaar. Kedar Neupane went above and beyond my expectations. He handled every detail from pick-up at the airport to the stay at the guest houses along the trek. He anticipated every detail including supplying poles for walking that I forgot and helped with shipping materials back to the US.
The guide Dipak was a lifesaver on the trek and coached me all the way to Namche Bazaar. He was very familiar with both the locals and the trek itself and was able to get me out on the first flight from Lukla to Kathmandu through his contacts with the local airline on the way back.
If you need a friend in Nepal those are the people to be with.

Kedar and his brother were very gracious and accommodating to me and my friend in planning a whirlwind trip from Kathmandu to Pokhara, as well as an early mountain flight to see Everest.
While in Pokhara the staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly. We were able to do a tour of the town, and went twice to see the sunrise on the mountains, because the first day it was too cloudy.
We packed a lot into a short time period and we couldn't have done it without the assistance of Actual Adventures. The hotel was in a great location for us to easily explore, shop, and get to the water.

had a great time with Lakpa Sherpa, he was very knowledgable and took the time to stop and explain all of the landmarks and wildlife. The trek was beautiful.! Unfortunately I fell sick with AMS and had to be air lifted out. The team were very quick to react to my illness, I had to be carried to the helipad and was given the best care anyone could ask for.

I found this company from trip advisor. The reviews were quit satisfying so I choose it for my trek to Everest Base Camp. I’m glad choosing this company. Kedar the managing director of the company was a very talented and humble person with great management skills. He had managed everything by the time we landed in Nepal. The accommodation, food and guides were great. I highly recommend this company.

“First time in Nepal - so much more than expected!!!”
The primary goal of my visit was to go trekking to Base Camp Everest. Actual Adventure and particularly Kedar (the owner of the company) made everything possible to make my trip as comfortable as possible. I had few days in Kathmandu and for this time I was provided with the sightseeing tour and got a lot of useful tips from Kedar and his team. They helped me get all the necessary equipment/clothes for trekking, provided me with a professional guide who made my way to the Base Camp safe and enjoyable.

Absolutely superb company!
Why? Because Kedar Neupane, founder and CEO, really cares about very high quality and taking care of you. Amazingly efficient, cheerful and helpful from the moment you contact him [my English emails received an immediate automatic reply and shortly after he, or his brother Sujane, personally replied], and the staff at his beautifully organised, homely Alpine Hotel in Kathmandu are also charming and courteous.
And then, of course, there’s your guide! Kedar makes sure you meet him in your hotel, to go through anything you need, to check itinerary and schedules, and, who will then show you some fascinating [and moving] places in Kathmandu. Our guide was Bashudev Sapkota; incredibly efficient, kind, courteous, funny and informative, it was a privilege to get to know him. He managed, in his excellent English, to teach us two new card games and at least one joke [that’s not bad…I’m hopeless at remembering jokes!] during our evening meals around the wood-burning stove in the trek lodge.
We’re looking forward so much to seeing them all again in 2018; next time Annapurna trek from Pokhara and the Chitwan National Park.
A few details and tips you may find useful:
- I’m 67 years old, my wife 65
- We did the 12 day Everest View Trek [part of Everest Base Camp trek] 16 – 27 November 2016. The weather: always bright blue, clear skies, though on the last two days some early morning mist
- Highest point of the trek: Tengboche at 3870m
- We had no problems from altitude. I only had a mild breathlessness on dropping-off to sleep
- Easy to get a Nepal visa, either in London or at Kathmandu airport
- Take Water-To-Go water-filter bottles. We’ve used them throughout Europe, India and now in Nepal. Fill-up from streams, hotel and trek-house taps, etc even stagnant ponds, and we’ve never had any upsets. You also never need to buy or discard plastic water bottles! And at the airport, empty pre-Security and re-fill once you’re through…..nice!
- Eve temps in November drop to around 2 C, so we took our own down-filled sleeping-bags [the Vango 600 from Blacks]. They were warm and cozy
- The 35mins flight from Kathmandu to Lukla is wonderful. The small [about 18 seats] twin-engined plane is very stable and surprisingly powerful and views from either side are spectacular
- The stretchy neck-warmers are great for pulling up over your nose and mouth when the trail gets very dusty from the yak, donkey etc ‘train’ that often ‘cow-bell’ passed [you keep to ‘hill’ side!]
- Plenty of food variety at the lodges, including porridge and the ‘24 hour power’ food, daal bhaat [rice, lentils and vegetable curry].
- You have your own room, in our case most often twin-bedded, and on a number of occasions en suite.
A spectacular and wonderful trip, which also happened to be great fun, made possible by Kedar and his super team.

Had an amazing experience on our EBC trek with our guide Basu.
Every experience from our arrival at the airport was professional, friendly, welcoming and very well organized. Kedar and Sujan were incredibly helpful and informative. Alpine hotel was lovely and centrally located. Our guide and his colleagues assisted us with rental of the best equipment and great prices before we left. The trek itself was incredible and Basu was very knowledgeable and an excellent guide and trekking companion. Would 100% return to Actual Adventure for more trekking in Nepal and highly recommend them to anyone interested.

We went to do a Gokyo RI trek and we chose Kedar to organize the flights. Due to bad weather condition flights Lukla were cancelled. We were confused, but Kedar even comes to the airport and helped us with this all necessary. We really appreciate this; it is more than just a business deal. We are very grateful for help.
Although after all we did Annapurna trek, we don’t regret this because the views were spectacular.
Next time when we come to Nepal, we will choose Kedar’s company for sure.

It was an excellent trip in Nepal with Actual Adventure. The company is well organized by the highly experienced and well mannered office personnel’s. I received a very warm welcome at airport and the office representatives were very punctual. I had no problem recognizing them, by the time I came out they were already waiting for me holding my name card with a bunch of flowers and I loved it! I did Everest View trek with this company and it was an amazing experience. During my trek due to change in the environment I had some minor complications on my health. Thanks to my guide Lakpa Sherpa and porter Ram, they’re pure souls who took care of me so nicely and I was able to complete my trek. I am so much in love with Nepal and Actual Adventure. I highly recommend this company for trekking or any kind of outdoor adventures in Nepal.

Made a trek to EBC in October 2016 with the help of Actual Adventure.
Their service is absolutely from A to Z - from your first steps just outside of Kathmandu airport till the check-in on the flight back home.
Everything they done was at high level. They do their best taking into account the local environment such as terrible traffic in Kathmandu and peak of tourists in a short time windows.
Even the force-major situations (bad weather conditions and therefore cancellation of local flights) are handled very professionally!
Make your trekking in Nepal (not only in Nepal, actually) unforgettable - hire Actual Adventure with their best managers and guides!

I can 100% recommend Actual Adventure for bookings in Nepal. I bought my Kathmandu-Lukla flight tickets and Everest view trek from them, and the service I got was absolutely excellent. They were very attentive, answering my mails quickly (also on weekends) and in a professional manner, with enough info (and extra recommendations) to be of help. Also, when there was a bank issue with the money transfer, they did their utmost to help with the problem. Once in Nepal, ticket handover was efficiently organized and we even had time for a nice cup of tea and some chitchat. We did the EBC trek at the end of May and it was a fantastic experience. Our guide Lakpa was fantastic (ask for him if you go through this agency). We were picked up for free from the airport. Lakpa got us up to Base Camp safely, despite other tour groups around us dropping like flies. Only factor that may be an issue is we had no freedom as to which tea house to stay in each night, our guide made this clear at the start. Overall a fantastic lifetime experience. Had an absolutely amazing time with this company and guides! Went for 4 days trekking around Everest region with the amazing Lakpa as a guide! All the lodging was organised beforehand so got to stay in amazing tea houses with no hassle or having to look around for one, especially during October when it's so busy. Lakota went above and beyond to make our trekking perfect with stops as we wanted etc. Highly highly recommend him as a guide and the company as a whole.
Met Sujan from actual adventures in Kathmandu and from day 1 there was nothing he couldn't manage for us from trekking to hotels. We even decided to take a quick trip to pokhara and in 1 phone call Sujan had a car organised, hotel booked and a flight back! And even came with us in the car! We will definitely be back and will use this company again! Thanks for everything and hope future travelers have just as amazing experience!

My experience with “Actual Adventure” was very secure . I was trying to reach the ebc, but at the last moment got so much sick that cannot continue my road. AA prepared my evacuation very quick, and provide the best service with the hospital team at the airport. So, I can say I survived because of them . And because we got the good insurance. Just keep in mind that insurance company have to provide helicopter for you if you’re in danger.
Second part of my review is about the contract and accommodation you gonna get on the way: once you reach Lukla you’ll understand that the food you’re getting is really very limited: you can get only one dish from the menu and one drink , which is not always enough when you walked 6-7 hours. Also it’s better to check some restaurants by yourself because the food can be dangerous for your stomach.
There is a lot of stereotypes about the hotels you gonna stay. The guide may tell you that more far you goes the worth hotel you’ll stay. That’s totally not true. Push your guide to provide the warm and comfortable place for you: it’s really important to rest good and talk to others on the way. Highly recommend you to not stay in empty longes, they do not fire the chimneys if there are only few people are in.
About Kathmandu hotel of AA: it’s pretty comfortable to stay and location is very convenient. Only the point is that staff may feed you in the morning by some leftovers .
Kedar and his brother Sujan was very kind and helpful with us ! They helped us every step and made our first visit to Nepal unforgettable! Thank you very much guys!

When i decided to go for a trek in Nepal with my 2 sons, i contacted my friend who went there in the past. She immediately told me to contact Kedar from Actual Adventure. What a good decision that was ! Being my first time in Nepal, Kedar has patiently answered all my questions for a good trip preparation. Arriving in Kathmandu, Sujan was there in time at airport to greet us and take care of us for the first few days. Then, we flew to Lukla (all arranged by Kedar) and started our 12 days trek in Khumbu area. Everything went smoothly thanks to our very good guide Bashudev, i thank him very much. We reached EBC and Kala Patther.
So i truly recommend Actual Adventure's team because they are professionnal, organized and honest.
